Fault causes and troubleshooting of inline centrifugal pumps
Inline centrifugal pumps are widely used in industrial production and agriculture. Inline centrifugal pumps have outstanding advantages such as stable performance, small size, simple structure, convenient operation, less failure, long service life and low price. But as long as it is mechanical, there are some faults. Here are thirteen common faults and solutions for inline centrifugal pumps:

1. Before the inline centrifugal pump starts, the water is insufficient or the vacuum pump does not exhaust the air inside the pump. Extend the filling time, increase the water capacity, and continue to pump with the vacuum pump. If the water is still not full and the air is not pumped, it is necessary to check whether the inlet pipe is leaking, whether the bottom valve is rusted, and whether the packing is leaking. Then, repair or replace the problems that have been checked.
2. The Inline centrifugal pump assembly head exceeds the rated head of the pump. Appropriately reduce the installation height of the pump (refer to the vertical distance between the center line of the pump shaft and the water level of the well) or shorten the length of the suction line, and appropriately increase the diameter of the suction pipe (the diameter of the general suction pipe is larger 1 level than the diameter of the water inlet of the pump) to reduce the assembly head of the pump and improve the water absorption height of the pump.
3. The Inline centrifugal pump inlet pipe leaks, resulting in a tight seal, water intake is not full, the air is not pumped. Use the light to check, if it is leaking at the pipe wall, repair the blockage; if it is leaking at the interface, tighten or replace the pad with a wrench.

4. Centrifugal pump impeller reverse. The direction of rotation of the water pump can be changed by changing the direction of rotation of the power machine. If the motor is used as the power, the motor wiring phase sequence should be adjusted to change the motor steering; if the internal combustion engine is used as the power, the transmission belt crossover transmission should be adopted for adjustment.
5. The depth of the suction pipe of the Inline centrifugal pump is not enough.
Firstly, measure the water depth immersed in the suction pipe of the centrifugal pump. If the immersion is too shallow, measures such as reducing the installation temperature of the pump or increasing the length of the suction pipe of the centrifugal pump should be taken to ensure that the water absorption port of the pump is less than 0.5 m below the water surface.
6. The inlet of the Inline centrifugal pump or the impeller flow passage is blocked. First, stop to check the specific blockage, and then clear the blockage. finally, according to the type of plug (sand, debris, etc.), you can take the well (recommended with air compressor or other tools), set the trash rack and other measures to improve the quality and prevent the clogging phenomenon again.
7. The bottom valve of the Inline centrifugal pump is not flexible or rusted, resulting in the bottom valve not being opened or closed. This phenomenon occurs before parking. Then lift the faucet of the pump to the ground, remove the bottom valve check, and repair or replace it according to the actual situation.
8. The centrifugal pump of the Inline is too absorbent. Properly reduce the installation height of the pump or try to reduce the water pressure loss (such as the use of smooth inlet and outlet pipes).
9. The centrifugal pump impeller is seriously damaged. Disassemble the pump and remove the impeller for inspection. If the impeller is damaged (wear, cavitation) is not serious, it should be repaired; if the impeller is seriously damaged, replace new impeller.
10. Leakage in the packing box of the inline centrifugal pump, resulting in a tight seal.
First, tighten the stuffing box gland with a tool. If the fault cannot be eliminated, remove the stuffing box and check the water seal ring and the filler for defects (distorted, deformed, hardened, deformed, etc.) and repaired or replaced if necessary.
11. The centrifugal pump impeller fixing nut and the key are loose.
Open the pump body and check the positioning keys of the impeller and the lock nut. If the key is dislodged or damaged, reset the positioning key or repair it first, replace the positioning key, and then reset. If the impeller lock nut loosens or falls off, the lock nut should be fitted first, and then the impeller lock nut should be tightened with a tool.

12. The centrifugal pump speed is too low. First, increase the speed of the power machine to meet the rated speed of the centrifugal pump. If the power machine is an electric motor, check whether the power supply voltage is too low. If it is too low, try to raise it. If it is normal, replace the motor with a larger power. If the power machine is an internal combustion engine, you should first increase the throttle to increase it. If the speed cannot meet the rated speed of the pump, the internal combustion engine with a larger power should be replaced. Secondly, replace the drive wheel of the power machine or water pump (change the transmission ratio:) to meet the rated speed of the pump.
13. The Inline centrifugal pump drain pipe resistance is too large. First, check the length and bend of the drain pipe, minimize the length of the bend and the pipe, and select the pipe that matches the diameter of the pump.
