15 maintenance points of clean water centrifugal pumps
The clean water centrifugal pump is a simple machine. Maintenance should pay attention to use within the rated range, cannot run without load, pay attention to avoid cavitation and steam binding phenomenon, strengthen inspections, and replace worn seal parts in time.

(1) Check if there is any looseness in the pipeline and joints of the clean water centrifugal pump. Turn the clean water centrifugal pump by hand to see if the clean water centrifugal pump is flexible.
(2) Add bearing lubricating engine oil to the bearing body, observe the oil level should be at the center line of the oil standard, and the lubricant should be replaced or supplemented in time.
(3) Unscrew the water plug of the pump body of the clean water centrifugal pump and pour water.

(4) Close the gate valve and outlet pressure gauge of the outlet pipe.
(5) Jog the motor and check whether the motor turns correctly by soldering the solderless tube.
(6) Start the motor. When the clean water centrifugal pump runs normally, open the outlet pressure gauge to see that it shows the appropriate pressure, and then gradually open the gate valve, and at the same time check the motor load.

(7) Try to control the flow and head of the clean water centrifugal pump within the range indicated on the label to ensure that the centrifugal pump operates at a high efficiency point to obtain a large energy-saving effect.
(8) During the operation of the clean water centrifugal pump, the bearing temperature should not exceed the ambient temperature of 35 ° C, and the high temperature of the solderless tube should not exceed 80 ° C.
(9) If there is abnormal sound of the clean water centrifugal pump, it should be stopped immediately to check the cause.
(10) When the clean water centrifugal pump needs to be stopped, first close the gate valve and pressure gauge, and then stop the motor.
(11) The clean water centrifugal pump will change the lubricating oil after 100 hours within one month of operation, and change the oil once every 500 hours thereafter.
(12) Regularly adjust the packing gland to ensure that the leakage in the packing chamber is normal.
(13) Regularly check the wear of the shaft sleeve, and replace it in time after the wear is large.
(14) When the clean water centrifugal pump is used in the cold winter season, after stopping, the water drain plug at the bottom of the pump body needs to be unscrewed to release the medium, prevent frost cracking.

(15) For long-term use of clean water centrifugal pumps, tin-free soldered pipes must be disassembled, the water should be wiped away, and the rotating parts and joints should be greased and stored properly.

Most firefighting water supply provided by firefighting water sources requires a fire pump to be pressurized to meet the requirements for water pressure and water volume during fire fighting. If a fire pump fails due to improper installation or maintenance, it will inevitably affect fire fighting and rescue and cause unnecessary losses.

Recently, in the process of vehicle maintenance, it has been found that some vehicles have on-duty prevention due to inadequate maintenance of the water pump system. The main reason for the failure is to leave the pump in the idling state and dry grinding of the impeller for a long time when the pump is not out of water, which causes serious wear of the pump body and damage to the mechanical seal pair, resulting in long-term parking and increased maintenance costs. Among them, the types of mechanical seal secondary damage mainly include overheat damage and mechanical damage. Overheating damage means that the pump is idling and dry friction for a long time, the high temperature and high pressure are formed in the pump, the large tank door is suddenly opened, and the water flow is suddenly cooled down, which is likely to cause thermal cracking and deformation of the mechanical seal. Mechanical damage means that water does not pass through the filter, solid particles invade between the sealing surfaces, causing the soft sealing surface to wear and then rupture and damage, and frequent opening and closing of the pump causes the mechanical seal pair to move and wear.

In order to save maintenance costs and ensure that vehicles are properly on duty and prepared, our company asks all units to do well in the maintenance of fire pumps from the perspective of maintenance, as follows:
There must be a filter screen to add water from the pool to the water tank to avoid solid gravel, stones, etc. from entering the pump
Regular cleaning of debris in water tanks and pumps
To strengthen the training of pump operation skills to avoid misuse
Open and close the door of the pump system every day to avoid the door rust

Lubricate the water pump, vacuum pump, throttle, etc. regularly in time to avoid damage to the machine parts; after running the pump for 3-6 hours, add grease to the water pump bearing once.
Diversion time should be no more than 40 seconds;
If the water pump is used for a long time, the additional cooling system must be turned on to ensure that the engine and power take-off are not damaged by overheating. When using the cooling system, you need to open the inlet valve, close the air release valve, and make sure to check the circulating water pipe of the power take-off for leaks frequently, so as not to cause the power take-off lube oil to dilute and burn the bearing.
